ktCOLOR is a renowned Swiss paint manufacturer headquartered in Uster in the canton of Zurich, with a branch in Kirchentellinsfurt near Tübingen. The company's product range includes wall paints, varnishes, and facade paints made from natural and mineral pigments, handcrafted color collections, design tools, as well as color consultations and training courses.
The story of ktCOLOR
ktCOLOR AG was founded in Switzerland in 1997 by Dr. Katrin Trautwein. With its modern, ecologically responsible, proprietary formulas for Le Corbusier's colors, the company has gained worldwide recognition and established itself as the preferred paint manufacturer for discerning architects. The handcrafted paints offer a depth of color unmatched by industrially produced paints. A branch in Germany was established in 2007, and since 2019 the paint factory has operated in a climate-neutral manner, sourcing 100% of its energy from sustainable sources. The company employs 20 people and is owner-occupied.

On the other hand, demanding projects require individually tailored colors that are impossible to achieve with automated mixing and manufacturing processes. With meticulous attention to detail and a deep respect for nature, the experienced ktCOLOR team adapts each color to the specific requirements of architecture and the natural pigments. Thanks to this craftsmanship, architecture gains colors that stand out from machine-made products.

Using natural pigments and renewable energy, ktCOLOR is a pioneer in environmentally friendly paint production. ktCOLOR relies on natural and mineral raw materials that are not only environmentally friendly but also deliver impressive results. The avoidance of nanotechnology, long-lasting chemicals, plasticizers, and solvents is a given. The energy used in production comes from the hydroelectric power plant on the company premises, another unique feature of the Uster-based factory.
